All School Dinners cost £2.00 for all children.

Money is collected on Mondays for the week ahead. If your child is absent on a Monday, please do not send your money until the Friday of that week. Only on the afore mentioned days is money collected. Please put the correct money in an envelope/container with your child’s name, class, the days when he/she is staying for lunch and the amount enclosed.

Throughout the year there are themed dinners e.g. Chinese theme during the Chinese New Year and at Christmas the children all sit together and are served by the school staff, who on this occasion, serve the children their dinners at their table.

Free School Meals

Parents in receipt of Income Support are entitled to free meals for all children attending the school. It is important that all entitled families are registered in order for the school to be ‘judged’ and funded correctly. This information is held confidentially in the school and no pupil will be made aware of their entitlement, or that of others.

Application forms are available from the School Office or on line at www.newport.gov.uk and then follow the school meal link.

Facilities are provided for children to eat their own packed lunch. Food should be brought in a lunchbox and any drink in a secure, sealed container. Tin cans, glass bottles, fizzy and hot drinks are not allowed for reasons of safety. Please ensure they contain the necessary cutlery.

Healthy Eating is well promoted in school both at playtimes and lunchtimes. Parents are asked to support our focus on no sweets, crisps, chocolate etc. Children are encouraged to bring water to school to drink throughout the day and there are water fountains in both the Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2 to refill their bottles.

Free School Milk

All Foundation Phase pupils are entitled to free school milk at parents’ discretion.
