Admission

Admission Arrangements

Our Admission Policy is written and adopted by the Local Authority.  All applications from parents are dealt with centrally in the Local Authority and then we are informed if a place is offered.

In September, children are admitted to our Nursery provided they have reached the age of three years only by the 31st August.  We do admit ‘rising 3’s’ twice throughout the year; once in January if they are three years old between 1st September and 31st December and after Easter, if they are three years old between 1st January and 31st March.

Children are admitted to our Foundation Phase in the September following their fourth birthday and the school year in which they will be five.  In July, new Reception pupils have the opportunity to visit their future class on our school Transition Day, when all pupils ‘move up’ to their new class for the day.

Annually, parents are requested to complete our school’s Contact Form, which includes emergency names and numbers, plus any relevant medical conditions and dietary requirements of which the school should be aware.  It is important that this information is kept up to date and we seek parent support and response in this matter.

Full details of the admissions process, including application forms for admission, can be accessed from Newport City Council at www.newport.gov.uk/schooladmissions or by ringing the Civic Centre on 01633 656656.

The Local Authority Admissions Policy is available to parents in our ‘Policies’ section of our website.
